The Royal St. Lucia Police Training Academy
held its graduation ceremony on Friday the 2nd
of March 2007, at 1:30pm at the Police Academy,
La Toc, Castries. A total of 95 police and correctional
officers graduated, 65 of which are police officers
and 30 correctional officers.
In attendance were the Commissioner of Police,
Mr Ausbert Regis, the Minister of Home Affairs
and Internal Security, Dr. Keith Mondesir, the
Speaker of the House, Mrs. Sarah Flood Beaubrun,
Professor Ramesh Rinanan from Monroe College
in the USA, gazetted and other police officers
from the Royal St. Lucia Police Force, family
and friends of the graduants.
The guest speaker at the ceremony was the Speaker
of the House, Mrs. Sarah Flood Beaubrun. There
was also an address by the Minister of Home
Affairs and Internal Security, Dr. Keith Mondesir.
The 2nd place recruit throughout Course 28
for police is Exter Harris (WPC 748) and the
2nd place recruit for the Bordelais Correctional
Facility is Dean John). The best Recruit throughout
the course for police is Lorna Preville (WPC
764) and for the correctional facility is Caline
Celestine. Other awards were given out in the
following categories:
• Best turned out recruit throughout
the course (male and female)
• Best at physical training male and female)
• Best at Self defence (male and female)
• Best pistol and rifle shot (male and
female)
• Best military and police duty subjects
• Best Correctional Officer duty subjects
• Best drills (police and correctional)
