The Royal St.Lucia Police Force (R.S.L.P.F) was the recipient of a quantity of electronic equipment which includes CCTV which was donated by a Bermuda based company known as Granite Enforcement Team (G.E.T. Limited).

The company is primarily responsible for providing the necessary technologically advanced equipment to various security companies to ensure a professional security service to the community. Its staff also comprises of seasoned security officers, former police and regiment officers who continue to maintain a high level of professionalism through the region, whenever they are called upon.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Kevin Smith, recently donated a significant amount of security equipment to the Police Force after becoming quite familiar with the mode of security operation during his several visits to the island which he has also adopted in relation to his field.

He made it clear that the island’s police force has been experiencing a lack of the resources necessary to effectively monitor certain criminal activity that occur within the society and sometimes within close proximity of the various police stations on the island. He said he recognized the need for the installation of CCTV networks at some of the police station which also include Vieux-Fort Police Station.  Police Headquarters will also benefit from this technology.

The Acting Commissioner of Police, Vernon Francois, welcomed the security equipment made available by Kevin Smith and stated that the initiative was highly appreciated by the members of the Royal St.Lucia Police Force. Francois explained that he has no doubt the equipment will enhance the ability of the police to pay close attention to reprehensible behaviour displayed by transgressors of the law. He also expressed his optimism of a significant improvement in the prosecution of offenders who appear before the court.
