| COURT RESULTS:
On Wednesday the 30th of November 2005, three young men who were
originally arrested and charged for the Possession of Controlled
Drugs, to wit: Cannabis, by the Vieux-Fort Marine Unit, appeared
in court in Vieux-Fort, to answer the charges.
The men are: Martinus Joseph aka “Francois”, age
17, of Dennery (Boat Captain), Kervin Sylvester, age 22, of Bruceville,
Vieux-Fort and Marcus Joseph aka “Boyer” age 35, of
La Pointe Dennery.
Their fishing vessel, “Rise Up” was intercepted off
the coast of Micoud on Monday 28th November 2005, about 12:15
am, with a total of 130 lbs of Cannabis on board.
After the charges were read in court to the aforesaid men, Kervin
Sylvester pleaded guilty to the Possession of Drugs and was fined
the sum of
$65,000 EC. He was asked to pay $10,000 forthwith and the balance
to be paid in four months. The charges against Martinus Joseph
and Marcus Joseph were withdrawn.
