More Drugs at Hewanorra International Airport


On Tuesday the 28th of November 2006, Cliff Mark Riggon and Carly Anne Butterfield, two British nationals, were arrested at the Hewanorra International Airport whilst attempting to leave on Virgin Atlantic Flight No. 032 for London, England with 5.5 kilograms of cocaine concealed in their carryon luggage. The two Britons are presently arrested and detained at the Vieux Fort Police Station. Charges of possession and attempting to export will be preferred against them.

Cliff Mark Riggon and Carly Anne Butterfield were accompanied by their 18 months daughter, Alliyah Felicity Anne Riggon.

They were taken to court on Thursday the 30th of November 2006, in Vieux Fort and Cliff Riggon was fined $80,000EC or 2 ½ years imprisonment for Attempting to export Cocaine and Cautioned, Reprimanded and Discharged on the charge of Possession of cocaine.

Both charges were withdrawn against Carly Anne Butterfield and she is scheduled to leave St. Lucia on Friday the 1st of December 2006, with her daughter.
