Robbery Foiled - 04/10/06 A Quick response by the Soufriere Police, helped foiled a Robbery on the Soufriere – Fond St. Jacques Highway, on Friday the 29th of September 2006, about 1:00pm. Police received a call indicating that three men on board a grey Suzuki Swift, registration number: PC 7136, were attempting to rob a DIGICEL sales vehicle. The lawmen responded with alacrity and intercepted the aforementioned vehicle. Three men, namely: Lensley Mitchell, age 22 of Fond St. Jacques, Soufriere, Wayne Francis, age 26, of Marigot, Castries and Justin Simon, age 21 of Palmiste, Soufriere, were the occupants of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed one cutlass, a .22 pistol and four rounds of .22 ammunition and a quantity of cannabis. The occupants of the vehicle were all arrested and charged for Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. Justin Simon was further charged for Possession of Cannabis. The driver Wayne Francis was also charged for Driving Without license and Insurance. They were taken to court on Tuesday the 3rd of October 2006 in Soufriere. Wayne Francis, pleaded guilty to Possession of Firearm and Ammunition and also for Driving Without License and Insurance. Justin Simon pleaded guilty for Possession of Cannabis. The matter was adjourned to Thursday the 5th of October 2006, and is awaiting the Magistrate’s decision. The Soufriere Police would like to thank the members of the public
