On Tuesday the 5th of February 2008, about
5:00am, forty (40) police officers from the
Special Services Unit (S.S.U) under the command
of Superintendent Victor Layzell executed a
number of Search Warrants in the Soufriere area.
A total of eleven persons were arrested and
a quantity of stolen items, cash and drugs were
seized.
This comes as part of ongoing investigations
into offences of violence and theft against
both local people and tourists in the area.
In relation to these incidents, further arrests
are expected. It is the intention of the Royal
St. Lucia Police Force to do all that is possible
to keep the area safe and thus police are asking
for the public’s help in identifying further
persons involved in these incidents.
