A police officer attached to the Soufriere Police Station, was formally arrested and charged on Monday, January 08, 2008 for the offence of Rape.
The police officer has been a member of the Royal St.Lucia Force for the past sixteen (16) years. He is an Acting Corporal of police.
The incident took place on Monday the 26th of November, 2007 at Piaye in the Quarter of Laborie.
The officer is remanded in police custody pending a bail hearing in the matter. He is also expected to be suspended as a matter of procedure.
