Update on Moule-A-Chique Drug Bust
On Monday the 26th of June 2006, seven men appeared in court in Vieux-Fort,
after being charged for the offences of Possession of Controlled Drugs
and Possession with Intent to Supply Controlled Drugs. Bail was granted
at a total amount of $13,000 EC each and an application was made for
the forfeiture of the vehicle which they were travelling on at the time
of their arrest.The men were all arrested by members of the Drug Strike
Force and Special Services Unit (S.S.U), when their red omnibus, registration
no.M842, was intercepted in the Moule A Chique area.Seven parcels including
two buckets of compressed cannabis were found in the bus. The drugs
weighed a total of 94lbs and estimated at a street value of $56,400
EC.
