Canaries Man Caught with Firearm

A resident of Flora Villa, Canaries, is currently facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and possession of ammunition, after police raided his house at the aforementioned address.
On Tuesday the 15th of January 2008, about 2:30pm, Canaries police along with members of the drug squad, Castries, proceeded to the residence of Marta Joseph, age 41, also known as “Ti Marta”, where the lawmen discovered a 12-gauge shotgun and thirteen (13) rounds of ammunition.
He was arrested and was subsequently charged for the offences of possession of firearm and possession of ammunition. He appeared in court on Wednesday the 16th of January 2008 where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was bailed in the sum of $2500.00EC cash on each charge and is due to reappear in court on Thursday the 24th of January, 2008.
