Security Guard Shot at Grass-Street

A shooting incident that occurred in the Grass-Street area, about 11:30pm on Monday the 2nd of March 2009, has left Malcolm Henry, 36 years of Grass Street, Castries, nursing gunshot wounds at the Victoria Hospital.
Henry, who is employed with G4S Security Company, was on his way home at Grass-Street, when five men, three of whom were wielding firearms, approached him and asked him to “Pass it”. He said he ignored the request and the men immediately grabbed him where a struggle ensued.
According to Henry, the company’s firearm which he is licensed to carry was taken away from him and the struggle continued where he got shot in the process.
He was shot in the right shoulder, left and right thigh and in an area of the left side of his abdomen. The ambulance arrived shortly after and took Henry to the aforesaid hospital where he is cucurently admitted. Reports indicate that he is in a stable condition.
Police have not ruled out robbery as the motive for the incident and are continuing their investigation.
