Chris Eleuthere Surrenders to Police
The search for Chris Eleuthere, 24 years of Ciceron, Castries, has been discontinued, after he surrendered to police on Wednesday the 4th of March 2009, with the assistance of parliamentary representative for South Castries, Dr. Robert Kennedy Lewis who had a major influence on Eleuthere’s decision to turn himself in.
On the aforesaid day and date, Dr. Lewis was visiting his constituency when Eleuthere’s mother told him that her son had expressed his willingness to surrender to police.
Dr. Lewis immediately agreed to communicate with the young man who was rather co-operative and expressed his desire to proceed to the police station.
Arrangements were made by Dr.Lewis who made contact with officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (C.I.D.), who later took Eleuthere into custody.
A Warrant of Arrest in the First Instance was previously issued for Eleuthere’s arrest for the offence of Escaping Lawful Custody.
The incident occurred about 11:50am, on Tuesday the 14th of October 2008, while he was being escorted to First District Court on Brazil Street, Castries.
