British National Caught with Drugs at Airport

On Friday the 27th of March 2009, about 4:45pm, a British National by the name of Daryl Liam Hardin, 41years, was preparing to board a Virgin Atlantic flight bound for England, when Customs officials intercepted him in the Departure lounge of the Hewanorra International Airport.
A search of his person revealed half a kilo of cocaine which was concealed in his underwear.
The Customs Officers handed him over to members of the Drug Unit in Vieux-Fort who subsequently charged him for Possession of Cocaine and Attempting to Export Cocaine.
On Monday the 30th of March 2009, he appeared in court in Vieux-Fort where he pleaded guilty to the charge of Possession of Cocaine. He was fined the sum of $17,500EC to be paid forthwith or in default twelve (12) months imprisonment. The charge of Attempting to Export Cocaine was withdrawn against him.
Daryl Liam Hardin was born of St.Lucian parentage. |
