Donavan Lorde Denied Bail
On Tuesday the 29th of December, 2009, Donavan Joseph Lorde, who was previously charged on five counts of Stealing by Reason of Employment, appeared in court at Gros-Islet for bail application but the matter was adjourned for Wednesday the 30th of December, 2009.
He reappeared at the First District Court in Castries on the aforesaid adjournment date, where his bail application was dismissed by the Magistrate. He was remanded at the Boredalais Correctional Facility until the 26th of February, 2009, when he reappears in court.
Donavan Lorde, who was employed at the St.Lucia Tourist Board in the capacity of Financial Comptroller, allegedly stole the sum of $330,638.51EC, between the 2nd of June, 2008 and the 29th of September, 2008.
He was later arrested in Trinidad and Tobago and subsequently extradited to St.Lucia. |
