Youth Shot at Victoria Street
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a shooting which occurred about 7:15am, on Tuesday the 5th of January, 2010, which left one man nursing injuries at the Victoria Hospital, Castries.
Reports indicate that Kimron Cooper, a.k.a. “Marco”, 20 years of Wilton’s Yard, popularly known as “Grave Yard”, Castries, was in an area at Victoria Street, when he was approached by about three men who shot him several times in the area of his abdomen. The men fled the scene thereafter.
Cooper, who is well known to the police, was taken to the Victoria Hospital via a private vehicle.
Shortly after the incident, officers attached to the Special Services Unit (S.S.U.), who also responded to the shooting, apprehended a young man at New Village, Castries, who was in possession of a 9mm firearm along with ten rounds of 9mm ammunition. Police will seek to establish a connection between the two incidents. |
