Shooting incident involving Perry Jules

Perry Jules AKA “Archer”

About 9:30 p.m. on Friday, November 17th, 2006, Perry Jules alias Archer, age twenty (20) of La Clery, Castries, was shot dead during a Police Operation at Bagatelle, Castries.

Two young men were also detained by the Police during the operation. One sustained a gunshot to his upper body and is detained at Victoria Hospital. The other individual is in Police custody at Central Police Station.

During the operation, a total of three firearms were recovered and it is expected that the young men will be formally charged in connection with the firearms.

Perry Jules was the subject of a number of arrest warrants for various serious offenses including: Robbery, Attempted Murder of two Police Officers and Escaping Lawful Custody.

At the time of the escape, Perry Jules was a prisoner in custody at Central Police Station, having been sentenced to four years imprisonment for the offense of Robbery.

A post mortem examination has been scheduled for Monday, November 20th, 2006.
