Fatal Accident - 21/08/06

St. Lucia recorded its latest road fatality on Saturday the 19th of August 2006, about 12:30am. Motor cycle registration number: PA 7296, driven by Smedly Sonson of Balata, Castries, ran off the paved surface of the Vide - Boutielle Highway and collided with a concrete barrier.

The pinion rider, Pearl Prospere, age 32, of Leslie Land, Castries, sustained injuries to her head and was pronounced dead at the Victoria Hospital. Smedly Sonson sustained a broken leg and bruises to his forearm.

Investigation is continuing.
