About 10:30am on Wednesday 20th August 2008, there was an accident along the Palmiste Road, Vieux Fort, involving motor car registration number: PA5708, driven by 35 year old Grita Jagroop of Micoud. Grita Jagroop lost control of the vehicle which caused the car to run into a utility pole. Her father, Gregory Johnny of Augier, Vieux Fort and her son Shayill Jagroop were passengers on board the vehicle at the time.
As a result of the accident, Grita Jagroop lost her life and her son Shayill Jagroop is in critical condition at he St. Jude’s Hospital. Her father Gregory Johnny is also admitted at the St. Jude’s hospital.
