Fatal Accident - 25/04/06

Celine Gustave, of Wingsville, Soufriere, was driving along the Soufriere/Vieux Fort Highway, near the Ladera Resort, about 4:45pm on Sunday the 23rd of April 2006, when the car she was driving, registration number: PE 287, ran off the pitched surface of the road and hit a tree.

As a result of the impact, Kearl Marquis, age 54 of New Development, Soufriere, a nurse of the Soufriere Hospital, who was a passenger on the car at the time, sustained serious injuries to the neck, leg and arm area. She was rushed to St. Jude’s Hospital but was pronounced dead about 6:35pm, that same day.

Two other passengers, namely: Mary Samuel of Belfond, Soufriere and Glenda Alexander of New Development, Soufriere, sustained serious injuries and are presently admitted at the St. Jude’s Hospital.

A post Mortem examination will be conducted, however, investigation is continuing.
