Serious Crime in the Coubril Area on 24th April

A male and female in their 50’s were the subject of assault and rape between 3pm and 5pm. The incident occurred in the Coubril, Castries on Thursday 24th April 2008.
The offender sneaked into their home and was waiting for them on their return. He held them up at gun point, tied them up and assaulted the male before raping his helpless wife.
The accused stole the couple’s money, mobile Nokia cell phone, credit cards, jewellery and a green and yellow hosepipe.
The offender is described as a dark skinned male, over 6 feet tall, slim build, flat haircut, who spoke very good English. He was wearing a black/grey cloth mask with eye holes, a bright blue sweatshirt and blue 3 quarter length jeans.
This man is considered very dangerous and residents need to be on their guard against offenders sneaking into their homes in broad daylight. We are working with the local residents and community to ensure any suspicious persons are identified and checked. In addition the Police are carrying out investigations in an effort to try and detain the culprit.
