Drugs at Sea:
On Monday 28th November 2005, about 12:15 am, the Vieux Fort Marine
Unit intercepted a fishing vessel “Rise Up” off the
coast of Micoud, with a total of 130lbs of Cannabis on board.
Arrested were the following:
1. Martinus Joseph aka Francois, age 17, of Dennery (the boat
captain).
2. Kervin Sylvester, age 22, of Bruceville, Vieux Fort.
3. Marcus Joseph aka “Boyer”, age 35, of La Pointe,
Dennery.
They were arrested and charged for Possession of Controlled Drugs.
The boat captain Martinus Joseph, was also charged with Failing
to stop.
They were taken to court in Vieux fort, on Monday 28th November
2005, but the matter was adjourned to Wednesday 30th November
2005.
