| Caught with Drugs - 30/03/06
On Tuesday the 22nd of March 2006, about 4:50pm, Alva Evans was
arrested at Reunion in Choiseul, while members of the Drug Unit
(South), were on patrol. Evans was seen running with what appeared
to be a pillow case, after a short chase, he was stopped and searched.
About 3lbs of Cannabis was recovered in the pillow case.
He was charged with the offence of Possesion of Cannabis and
was brought to District Court in Choiseul, on Thursday the 23rd
of March, 2006. Evans pleaded guilty and he was convicted and
fined the sum of $3000EC, to be paid in 2 months or 12 months
imprisonment.

Marijuana Plantations Destroyed - 30/03/06
On Wednesday the 29th of March 2006, members of the Drug Units,
North and South, conducted a four- hour jungle patrol, in search
of marijuana plantations. During that jungle patrol, they destroyed
a total of 4058 marijuana plants found on four plantations in
Woodlands Grace, Vieux Fort.
No one was arrested during the operation.
